Hi all. New member here. I have an old Craftsman 36cc with 16 in bar(maybe a Poulan 2150 equivalent) that I keep as my "dirtsaw" as well as for sentimental reasons, being my first ever chainsaw. It runs quite well, has muffler mod. The problem? It doesn't seem to oil enough, even though it leaks if it sits and always has. I've cleared the oiling holes on 2 different bars I use, and have put in a new OEM oiling system. I'm a little unsure on the set up of the worm gear "spring", as I don't have the special tool to set it just right(this tool seems to be completely unavailable on the internet pretty much worldwide!?) Don't really see much difference with the new parts compared to the original, which were filthy, but didn't seem in bad shape.
Hoping for thoughts, suggestions or maybe some one has an extra tool #530031166

What are the symptoms? How did you determine that it is not oiling enough?
When using it, the chain gets notably dry and the bar gets hot and when let off the throttle it stops spinning immediately due to high friction on bar. My two bars have flaked the paint off near the chain groove and it looks like the excessive heat has case-hardened the metal! If I run it over a piece of cardboard, little if any oil drips and sprays. I know this isn't normal, as I have 8 or 9 other saws. As noted, it was doing this with old oiling system, and not much different having replaced everything. That's why I was wondering if the worm gear spring was really particular. I may have to pull it apart to check if gear is turning the pump? Don't these saws with their nonadjustable pump generally have a reputation for over oiling?

Thanks for that, but it is sold out at Randys, just like literally every online source!
They all have been for years too. Why I didnt show it there since sold out. Plus he always ask to much. Was only like 3 bucks 20 years ago and he was asking same price even then.

2 other poulan ones I got way back when working on the mag cased series.
