I have one Eric, it is on my bench as we speak along with 2 357's...nothing has been different so far...port timing figures are the same...squish...etc...as was already said...cranks top ends...all identical....

I am hoping that the winter version will be available here soon, as I have a crew of siesmic line cutters that love the saws, but need winter versions...

Thanks for the info Dennis greatly appreciated.
Seeing how my eph 357 is in great demand.
I'm thinking of stepping out and trying a Efco 962. Any of you guys that port saws ever done one of these? If so what was the out come?

Eric
I have done a few of the 962s. They do come alive after they are ported. One of them belongs to a forum member that I talked with last week. John Johnson, PM Eric and tell him how your PP962 works.
Riddle me this Batman.
The 962 is a great saw, just a little rough around the edges, when ported correctly they do come alive. Its basically in the same class as your 357 but if you get the 962 from your farm dealer, you can be green with envy.

Dennis,

The Jonsered website lists a catalytic converter as a feature for this saw. Are all the saws equiped with a cat converter?

After a period of time, a cat converter on a 2 cycle may load up due to the emissions in the exhaust. Any special cleaning procedures?

Has anyone had any practical hands on experiance with a 2156 yet? Come on some one has to have some answers!

Has anyone had any practical hands on experiance with a 2156 yet...

Local dealer doesn't want to sell me one

wants $600 to special order one. Doesn't expect to sell many, if any, here. Says most of us wanting a med-size saw could get by with 2159/359. Thought is one or two possibilities: Tilton has a load of 2159's and doesn't want to dilute sales, Elux has a real winner with the pro-level 357, has dictated that red saw must have catalytic convertor, demanding higher price.
