Boston, have you ever tried climbing w/ that saddle while on a spar lugging around a ms460 or ms 660? Get some suspenders. I've climbed in the same saddle on for competition speed climb though. Indeed it is very light.

Too bad they won't let us climb with the modded B1's any more. My b1 bridge is the same thing as on the b2 and it still won't fly.

Butterfly KICKS A$$!

Who is they?

TCC?

Best saddle on the market!!!!!!

The saddle in the pict looks barely used, is it your second one or is your opinion based on light use? I have had three saddles, a Weaver with a butt strap, a Blair saddle with a floating "D" and now Sherrill's Glide Saddle. The first was a great beginners saddle, though I hated having my legs squeezed together. The Blair was awesome but I didn't like the way the floating "D" ate up the strap it slid on. I like the way the floating "D" works on my on my Glide but the saddle slides up too much if I put weight on the core when it is attached above me. I miss the larger size D rings because I occasionally get to spur climb fat redwoods and like using a big(24') three strand rope flip line. How does the Butterfly compare to a Glide saddle? I know they have a lot in common.

Yes it's my second, was climbing on the b1, love it. Only been on the B2 for about a week at most, however i like it just as much as my b1.

I climbed in the work climb at a comp. in Arizona on the glide and ended up walking away w/ one heck of a bruise on my stomach. The buckle was made w/ sharp corners, not a wise decision. As well as the glide weighs more than the bfly and cost about the same.

I'm sticking w/ what works for me.

Buckingham with the bosun seat. Some other saddles choke your legs or affect your nuts. Mine with the firm seat is awesome, single floating D for rappeling, loop for a saw lanyard behind you right dead center. You just sit on your ass, no squeeze on anything, even rappeling down with a 288.

Best thing you can do is try before you buy mate. Go to a arborist supply shop near you and try out what they have got.

I have a Komet Butterfly, which is awesome. It didn't have sliding rings so i just tied another main anchor bridge with a short piece of climbing line, and have sliding rings on that. Sliding rings or D's are the way to go as you have way more movement.

Check out the new 'Treemagic'. The name says it all...

Don't buy a crap harness just because its the cheapest, you will end up spending alot of time in it.
