I just bought a new MS 150 C. This is my second Stihl (I've had a Farm Boss 038 AVS many years). The saw is amazingly light and powerful but it seems to me that the clutch slips too soon under load. I can live with this and it's easy to just adjust how hard I drive it, but I'm wondering if this is normal. Is it to protect this little guy from overloading/overheating? It's 'looser' than I'm used to.

Seems to be, I know - right? It seems a little delicate to me. But, I don't want to burn it up either.

Try lightly sanding the inner friction surface of the drum. Then degrease it and the friction surfaces on the clutch weights. Worked on my 020AV's with new clutch drums that were slipping. Also found that over greasing clutch bearings was a trap for this young player.

Can you describe the situation? Slipping clutches on modern saws is actually pretty rare. A bogging saw is not a slipping clutch. A slipping clutch will manifest itself as the chain stopping and the saw revving up a bit.
