New stihl safety chain rsc3

Don't think the RSC3 fits on the 250...

This looks like the chain that came on my MS250. My problem with it is that I can't fit my file down into the area where I need to file the cutter. I am using one of those bar mounted file n joint sharpeners. I suppose I will have to have it ground down by someone for the first time so I can sharpen it later. And Yes I'm using the right file.

Hmmm...I have a MS250 also and I think that its the RMC3 not the RSC3(From the Stihl website "STIHL recommends #3634 (26 RMC3 62) "). Also I don't think the RSC will fit on the MS250 (only 3/8"). Looking at my RS chain it seems to have a different cutter shape. Although the chains look similar the cutters are different but I'm not really sure (I'm just a part time hack).

As for sharpening the RMC3 it is a pain at first but not that bad. SawTroll is right...freehand it. I had to using a 3/16" file sliding it in/out at the at the smooth ends of the file. I wish I would have thought about using a smaller file. I hope that helps.
