To give a little history on the saw. I picked the saw up at a local Carlisle car show were i saw it sitting in with 3-4 polands. I asked how much he wanted for it since it is a good sized saw and i love the looks of older saws. He saws 20$ I ask does it run? he says probubly not, but i couldent resist and came home with it. i left the polands even though he tried hard to move them to.

Upon cheching it out it had a hot blue spark and 145 compression, i started thinking hey this might work afterall. i did discover the tank was gummed up with about an inch of crud and varnish. It was great to be able to take the tank apart and scrape/dremel it all out, so the lines are now clear and free flowing from the tank. I also looked over the carb, it looks new and is clean inside and out as far as i can tell. so i give it a try..........

Well i can get it to fire off but it wont rev up and sounds like it is starving. i fiddled with the fuel screws but they dont seem to give consistant results. i got it to run and dialed it in some and ran it through some wood for a few minuts but then i would have to start fluttering the throttle to keep it going and it eventually died. then......back to its former self with me pulling and pulling and it dies.
I am not sure where to go from here, can i test the crank seals, are there hidden passages in the tillitson carb, why do the ones we love always hurt us the most. I was digging the saw when it ran:greenchainsaw: I want it back!
