I put my 024 Super carb(WT22) on the 026 today and the saw runs perfect.I cant for the life of me figure out the inconsistancy of this 194 Walbro.Guess its time for a new one, life is too short.....

Good for you, mang. Maybe I need to be a little more patient with my pair of 026's with WT-22's on em?

Who knows on your WT-194. Usually the replacement of choice for the carbs w/out an "H" adjust. May have had a rebuild consisting of way too much air pressure as the "cleaner" vs. a proper approach with appropriate carb cleaner.

So go cut wood and start shopping for another WT-22. May be a lot cheaper than a 194 and I don't think there's much difference than the metering chamber/needle size. Someone may jump in with more specifics.

But, hey...

You got 'er runnin'!

Funny thing is it has the same gutsy character as the 024 super now.I also replaced the impulse line and the fuel line and filter.I have gone through this 194 (compensator) carb about 6 times already. The last time it popped out the large silver welch plug. I'm afraid to trust it now.Anyone know where I can get a choke spring for the air filter/choke system? They are back ordered from Stihl.

Exactly, I bought a 028S that wouldn't run right at WOT. Rebuilt the carb and it's fine. The seller didn't bother to tell me that he had tried to rebuild the carb. He left a diaphragm out and if another member hadn't of sent me a IPL for the carb I doubt I'd have figured it out.

HAHA.......I picked up a "non running" 026 from a Stihl dealer (believe it or not),they said the P&C were shot, pulled the cord and sure enough no compression...........$50 and it was mine. Had to put it in the cab of the truck as I had some other stops to make & the thing leaked gas & stunk me out. Got home, started to go over it and "presto", the plug was only in by a couple threads :dizzy: Tightened it up & it started right up then flooded out. Pulled the carb down & the parts were in the wrong order. Straightened that out and it is a killer little saw now, goes to show you even the best can slip up :msp_w00t:
