I finally purchased the Dolmar 6000i I had asked ya'll about, picked it up for 200.00 out the door, Used, dirty, w/ 18" bar and a 30 day warrenty. Cleaned it up a bit dumped the gas in the tank, replaced w/ clean 92 mixed, topped off the Bar oil, cleaned air filter. Fired it up and it took off after several pulls. Runs great. Chain a bit dull, probably could use a new chain.
My son and I took it out and began bucking up some felled timber that had been stacked a year ago. The saw was running great working out on some Black Locust.
We Stopped for a break and top off the tank and noticed the Chain break wasn't working anymore. We broke it down and noticed that the Steel spring that surrounds the sprocket had slipped on one end.
After further disassembly I noticed that the end that slips over the assembly which attaches to the handle had become rounded and was allowing the spring to pop off.
So I guess that needs to be replaced. Once I reassembled it it ran great eating up some 20" + girth logs like nothing. Until the brake refused to work again, so we stopped.
Would this be expensive to replace? Who would I have to get this ordered?
What would be the best thing to clean all of the gunk off? I was thinking Brake Cleaner, but it may be too harsh.
Thanks!
