While I was digging around behind the shop this evening, I found two more wedges that I had made over the years in my "quest for the ultimate non conventional wedge". The ones on the left were welded to the beam 5" apart at a 15 degree angle. I made them at home and took them to work to have them heat treated. Told the guy running the furnace that I wanted .020-.030 case and bring them back to 40-45 Rc, well they got .070-.080 case and were 56Rc hardness, WAY too brittle, had to flame anneal the bottoms just to weld them down. They done ok but kept chipping off.
