You were dead right again.
I put a carb kit in my $20 3700 and got her fired up today. I tried it with a 16" bar and buried it in round. This saw cuts really well. I still need to get a few small parts for it and do a muffler mod but I think this is the best $20 I've spent in a long time.
The saw is mostly yellow as there is very little Poulan green left on it. I am assuming since I've seen three Poulan saws of this series up here that were factory painted over that it was originally for a Canadian Tire branded saw. I don't think Canadian Tire ever carried a 3700 variant so I'm guessing the mag parts were destined for a 3400.
