I was hoping not the hear that but, backyard fires I guess.

Thanks

Unfortunately it's like match sticks, but I use quite a bit of it for starting fires. It starts really quick and burns hot, but fast. It smokes pretty bad though. If it was easy to get, and not very labor intensive it certainly beats a snowball. :)

Boxelder....also known as Ash Leaf Maple down here.

Trash tree....basically. Weak, brittle wood (when mature)...always 'self pruning' (dropping limbs).

Cuts easily, burns easily...but doesn't give off much heat and not for long.

I know that the Poulan marketing folks came up with some interesting names, but this is the first time that I've seen this one:

Poulan Real Tree 2075 OC Chainsaw for Parts or Repair 026 066 029 Pro | eBay

I've seen alot of realtree in green camo, but not orange camo like that one.

My bro had picked up a like new mostly all chrome one off a guy a year after a ice storm.
Have you see the mostly all chrome one? If not I might be able to dig up the old pics from 5 years ago.

I've got one that has chrome clutch and recoil covers. The rest is black with a black bar as well. Nice looking saw

4200 carb adaptor

My 4200 has a vacuum leak.
The leak is between the carb body and the carb adaptor. Both have good mating surfaces. The leak does appear to be between the gasket and the carb adaptor. I tried a few different new gaskets and made one up. I used a little motoseal between the adaptor and the gasket but it continues to leak there.

I couldn't see any cracks in the adaptor but there may be some I can't see. It is leaking on the left side where the impulse passage is located.

Anyone else have similar problems? The adaptor appears to be one of those difficult to find parts.

Thanks

I have been looking for starter pulley for this saw and been no luck. Has anyone switched these over to the older style of starter by switching the flywheel and the pulley. Thinking something off say a 3450 or 3750. Or will I be better off turning one out of aluminum.
Thanks
Bob

Bob a PP365 is an older saw than a 3450/3750/PP330/PP380.

Tim are you sure you have the right gasket on it ? If you used the one that came with the Tillitson HS not, you have the wrong one and it won't cover the whole impulse channel on the adapter.

I saw that when I was putting the carb back on so I made one up using the typical paper gasket material that covers the whole adaptor face.

I think I'll pull it a part and test with some pressure there again to make sure something else hasn't started leaking as well as checking the adapator for a crack.

Bob,

Ordertree, Canadian side shows that part (530036054) in stock for $10.38 if that's any help

loose the deflector?

I'm just putting one back together ( lean scoring by someone else). The mufflers on these are quite different than the older 42cc poulans, so any advice, photos of what you did would be welcomed.

Be safe,

How about just loosing the deflector? Or drilling a big HOLE in the face of the muffler. Those slots are difficult to modify, nearly broke my favourite screwdriver!.

I notice the gasket between the reed block and the adaptor appears to be rubber.
I'm going to try a thin piece of neoprene (0.020) and see if that does the trick
All is good vacuum wise from the top of the adaptor using a piece of inner tube to block it off.

I really hate to tie this saw up as it as been great to cut up some firewood. I think it is lighter than the 5200 just by the fact that it has one less label on it.
