Mark, I have looked quite a bit for that 361 type bulkhead fitting, where can I get 1? Also I don't think my 8500 has that type duckbill looking fitting on it? Whats the best way to get the reed valve out & the cylinder off? Yes I got the bolts out but damn that stuff is glued - stuck on good. I have rapped it several times & seems its on permanent.

Ah, there is the problem, finding those fittings from a junk 361.

I posted this fuel line remedy years ago and we have a member here who runs his on machine shop business who stepped up to the plate and offered to duplicate those fittings for a very low price. He only wanted to help out and had no time or desire to distribute them.

So I invested quite a bit of my money and time to take the lot of fittings he made and distributed them to the members here, and giving the machinist credit, he let me take them from him in two lots to keep my out of pocket expense down that way. I made nothing to speak of off this, they were basically sold and shipped at cost.

All the ones available have been distributed and I have just a few left for myself.

Several members were asking about these some time back and the machinists contacted me in January and said he had a lull going and if needed he could make up another run of these fittings, but I told him I was working too much and didn't have time to fool with them.

I gave him a members name who had been asking about them who I thought might take over the investment and distribution this time and that is the last I have heard about it.
If you guys want to get together and pony up some money and get a batch made up, I'm pretty sure it could happen again. Might take a bit of time if he's back to being busy.

Your saw may not have the duckbill on it but rest assured it did have at one time and needs one now.

I don't think I have ever had any cyl etc that tight, but I guess just pry them off..

I tried to find some 361 part vendors to buy that fitting, that pretty much went nowhere.

Thanks for the close up picture, i may just make some up myself, my lathe guy always has time for my "special projects"

Yep BB372 piston is drop in for the 475 2077 2083II with no work involved. What I use for ease of stock saw rebuild.
Use 064 piston if you want a hair tighter squish because of the pin to top height and windows. Must grind or machine open bosses in piston for rod.

I use 066 pistons in 505 2083. Must grind or machine open bosses in piston for rod.

Husky pistons in 415 425 445 are better then stock oem pistons IMO.

Is this the one you got coming? The one these guys were talking about?

If so that is a fair deal. "IF" it is indeed a 8500 since it has no decals and the model/serial number tag is conveniently missing. It also has a early model 4200/5200 recoil on it.

It could be a 6900 or 7700 also.
Yes thats the one, how do I tell which model it is for sure?

Hopefully we will be cutting big wood tomorrow. We will be using big saws.

Finally got my PP365 on the bench. Figured Id get some before pics in this time. Has great compression, spark, p/c all the important stuff checks out. I have seen some NOS clutch covers on ebay might grab one up. Anyway just a warning that most of us already know.. I never run an unknown not runnning saw without some inpection. Its easy and saves major grief and $$. Now I had planned on putting a new pulse line on this saw anyway but look at the picture I took. Maybe the saw wouldnt fire like that, but if some gorilla did get it to run that minty 60cc top end would be ugly quick. This will be a fun build. These saws are awesome.

Here you you can see the brass fitting with the line broken off, easy fix that left unchecked can ruin your day

looks better in person. all the machining marks are on the piston still

I bought a nos chain brake cover last year for one of my 365's and it came with a new muffler as a kit. The muffler has a different outlet so it does not burn the brake handel.

The new Nationall seals came for my 3400 build. Picked them up from Advance Auto for something like $2.65/ea. The SKF seals were more than $6.00 on various sites. Quite a price difference. Champhered the case bosses like Mark suggested. One seal I could install by simply using my fingers. Not exicted about that, but I did use some Dirko as I always do.. We'll see if it passes the vac test.

Does not get any better than this.

I got some monster poplars I need to drop on my land in Southern Ohio per my dad. Last time I checked it would take close to 3 folks arms out to get around the DBH. At least 2.5 folks.
Love it when I am able to spend time with my dad in the woods cutting. He still uses his 3300 he bought new.

Those big boys take 2 of us to roll around, We put two in the trailer at a time and transport up to the house with the 4 wheeler. Fun Fun Fun!!

Now bring on the snow one more time!!! expecting 6-8 " here.
