Poulan 475, anyone have first hand knowledge of this saw? also how hard are parts to come by? I have some parts for it but not the saw and may be in the market for one.

Seems I always have the parts for the saws 1st than the saws, not sure but that may be a good thing,

I know a little, I bought and rebuilt two of them. Still have one.

A Stihl 064 piston can be modified to work in one. Some parts are still available from Poulan....

looks nice but what kind of double dawg beastie saw is it attached to. Chain brake looks a little Partnerish....

Its not a Poulan, that's why I didn't post the saws picture in the Poulan thread! :ices_rofl: It is a big Swede though.

I was going to use this bar on a sandcast as it has a slightly larger tail then most but it was a .050 gauge bar and wouldn't work well with most .404 chain.

who stocks them?

Any place that sells seals can get them. Most any auto parts can order them also.

Thanks Mark, now how about the fuel line and carb kit?

Geeze, you want me to come over and put it together for you too?? :ices_rofl:

Carb kit is RK23HS and the proper fuel line is NLA anywhere that I can find. It was originally a thin wall 3/16" ID line.

I converted all my big counter vibes to a 2 piece line setup using a Poulan 361 type bulk head fitting screwed into the tank. I can now use a 1/8 x 3/16 line in the tank and a 3/16 x 5/16 line from the tank to the carb.

This is the fuel fitting.. 100_7343 (Custom).JPG 100_7352 (Custom).JPG

Don't forget a new duckbill checkvalve on the fittlng to the left of the fuel line.

I have a 475 that I rebuilt. New bearings seals piston rings. The crank seal on the clutch Side is NLA and is also odd ball size. I could never find a replacement for the oem seal. It is a good running saw and seems to have plenty of power but the 505 I believe is a better way to go.

Maybe someone should buy them and share them with the group. I'm willing to be the goat I'd someone will take some off my hands.
I am not sure how many I have, need to check. I would be in for one if I do not have a few already, will follow up.

I think I bought six sets at once like that that last time some come up and I think I got them for a little less.

I probably used a couple sets so I will take one off your hands if you want to do that, if no one else steps up.

Is this the one you got coming? The one these guys were talking about?

If so that is a fair deal. "IF" it is indeed a 8500 since it has no decals and the model/serial number tag is conveniently missing. It also has a early model 4200/5200 recoil on it.

It could be a 6900 or 7700 also.

Mark, I have looked quite a bit for that 361 type bulkhead fitting, where can I get 1? Also I don't think my 8500 has that type duckbill looking fitting on it? Whats the best way to get the reed valve out & the cylinder off? Yes I got the bolts out but damn that stuff is glued - stuck on good. I have rapped it several times & seems its on permanent.
