That 295 looks almost new.
Yeah, it was in good shape. Haven't heard it's status though.

Something that's about more dern aggravation than it's worth. HahaWhat is facebook?
What is facebook?
I was just meaning that the Homelite XL12's design can be seen ALL over the place. Everyone copied it. The Poulan 361 is a great example. I was just asking if the 306 was popular like that, and everyone made their version.I don't understand the XL12 remark, there not really in the same class. The 361 would be more like the XL12 design.
Can't imagine a cool dude from LA asking that.
I am embarrassed to say I am there on occasion. The group I ATV with communicates there. 90% of them are old farts too.
I see some familiar names on the Pioneer, Partner & Poulan Pro Chainsaws FB page.
Thanks for all the info.

Ahhh...10-4. Doubt he's looking to sell it if he just paid that for it.I had to go look out of curiosity. Is that the AC 295 leather face posted? If so that AC 295 was on feebay for sale in Ohio. Sold for $300 shipped. Pics are off feebay too.
Leather face is from TX. Wonder if he bought it or just reposting pics like I did.
Well, It came today and the seller did a super job of packaging the saw, no damage in transit, it has 3/8ths bar studs, almost no chain rash inder the clutch cover, the incorrect recoil seems to work well, fuel and gas caps seal and aren't chewed up, piston and cylinder in great shape, almost new rim drive, put in fresh mix and fired in 5 pulls, now the bad, missing front shroud screw, missing outer bar plate, and the worst for last, idles probably between 3 to 5k(guess, I didnt tach it) seems to have a bad carb, the adjustment screws both wobble and seep fuel, I dont have a tilly 176a laying around and I already checked ebay, does anyone have a spare that they are willing to let go??Is this the one you got coming? The one these guys were talking about?

If so that is a fair deal. "IF" it is indeed a 8500 since it has no decals and the model/serial number tag is conveniently missing. It also has a early model 4200/5200 recoil on it.
It could be a 6900 or 7700 also.

Thanks again for the info Tim, which model homelite? If you can pick up an HS 168a, it has no governor on it. I think Mark posted up that a Homelite bar plate can be made to work.
Thanks for the linkHere you go, one new 4200 carb which is the same carb as the 8500 carb, but like was said no governor.

I can probably dig up a outer bar plate but you might have to drill it out for the 3/8 studs..
Did you check the bore size yet? 2.065 is what your looking for in a 8500
LOL, I just noticed Fish is the seller of that carb....
X2See this link. It was Aaron (Eccentric) that posted it up and it was XL-12 plates for a 3400 . The 3400 plates should work on your 8500 with some mods as well as the Homelite 9XX series. You will at the least have to open the holes to 3/8". The inner plate on my XL-902 Homelite is an exact match on my 4200 (5/16" studs) including stud spacing, oiler slot and chain tension adjust slot spacing. The outer should be a no brainer as you don't need the bar adjust slot on you 8500.
The Poulan plates seem scarce but you should be able to pick up the Homelite plates.
If you are handy you should be able to fab one up.
