here is the latest project 245A Bow bar, it looks to be very clean and not abused, has issues with spark, flywheel nut is either wrong or has been cross threaded. I re gapped points and coil and need to investigate my parts stash for a new flywheel nut etc. Bar looks ok and is painted black, I may leave it that way to match my 361 bow bar. 245A.jpg

5200 throttle lock replacement, have any of you performed this task on this series saw? I did it tonight and it was not fun but i did manage to complete the job.

Almost impossible to get the pin out and in the case.
I did one a year ago on my 4200. As I recall it took a bit of finagling.

update on the 245A, I almost gave up but had to go in and clean the points twice and re gap to .015 (I did .017 1st) what is the factory setting? I re gapped the coil and unplugged the kill switch and she fired up ( I also checked compression 145) so I am a happy Poulanite (new word)

I do have a question though, one of the bar studs has been changed out to a regular bolt and it is spinning around, I see in the oil tank the head of the bolt, is it as easy as extracting out through the oil tank and inserting the correct bolt like the 3400 series?

I did restore the bow bar last night as well, will post picture later tonight , I went with Black bar & green dogs
