How do I get to learn the super secret Poulan handshake? I have several nice old saws of the 3000, 3400, 3700 persuasion in various sizes and colors, and I always bumble with replacing the top cover. Usually I remove the spark plug and that helps but it is still not smooth. Who knows the trick, and is willing to broadcast it? Don

Well I'm kind of confused though. I'm seeing a Poulan Farm Pro 375 and a PP 375 I think on my searches. Don't understand the difference.
Man I hope I can get rid of this case of CAD. Driving myself crazy looking for chainsaws. I already have a new used 64cc saw, no reason at all for another 60cc.
I gave up fiddling with the covers getting them on and off and just take the two socket head bolts out on the front handle bar and swing it forward.
The problem with buying old saws is you can't find the parts to fix them and when you do they are more expensive then what you paid for the saw. Examples are the anti vibe mounts $30 a piece and you need 6 for the big countervibe saws

Is there a difference between the PP 375 and the Poulan Farm Pro 375? No chain brake sounds a bit dicey.
What is considered a "big contervibe", anything over 60cc? I think a 24" bar will enable me to cut anything I'll run across so I have no real need of a saw over 60cc. Just thought I'd do it since I'll have either a 3400 or 375 too.
The parts issue forces me to take a step back now. If something breaks I may end up with a 15 lbs paper weight.
Thats why you need 10-20 of same models
. Cant get parts move on to next saw and use the broke down one for parts.

Oh yeah man, you just gave me a bullet proof reason to collect saws! Even if my wife catches on to the fact I have multiple saws of the same model ("Why do all these saws have the same number on them?") I can roll my eyes and tell her I need them for parts.
I would definitely go for the 375. Not very common but much the same as a 3700 which is considerably faster than a 3400. The 375 has a 400 type air filter setup on it.
Most of the parts are common to a 3400 so you shouldn't have any difficulty getting parts for it. It's also a fairly rare saw so it would be a good score. There will be many more 3400's available to you in the future but I doubt you'll find another 375 locally.
The only part issue with that saw is the starter pulley. If it did go and you can't find one you could easily buy a clapped out 3400 and swap the flywheels out and use a 3400 pulley which are easy to find. The air filters are scarce but if you take care of the one you have it won't be an issue.

They are good saws and no different than the green ones in that regard. The 375 & 395 were made at the end of that mid-size counter vibe series. The reason they are yellow & black, is that was when they began the Poulan Pro name, colors, brand. Like 1989-90. The 375 is 61cc with a couple 4000 type features. Like taller nylon air filter, side outlet on muffler etc. The 395 was 64cc. and usually had a gray top cover instead of black. Some in this series had brakes, some not. Usually not on the 375. Like others have said, parts are interchangeable with all saws in this series. 3400, 3700, 4000, 375, 395.

I may have forgotten already, it has a double and manual oiler right? Looks like you used the manual around the 50 sec mark, probably wrong though lol. Love the way it sounds at idle. My Makita sounds nothing like that, it's softer and less aggressive.

lol. I'm trying! Guy hasn't responded yet. Stuff like this drives me crazy when dealing with sellers. Acorn Hill probably picked it up already.
401 tank split 16 of the 18 screws were broke and missing
Oh Snap, those tanks were not designed to be taken apart! In fact somewhere I have a service bulletin pertaining to that fact and how to deal with a leaking tank.
The 360,400 and 450 tanks were made to come apart without problems though and that was to service the felt pickup in them.
