Got this chainsaw for free from the misses step-dad. Hasn't been cleaned in what looks like ever and the fuel line and air filter turned to dust when I touched it. Can someone help me out on what model it is and where I can get the regular maintenance parts?

It's an S25 of some sort. Looking at the picture it's hard to tell but I'd guess S25CVA or S25DA.

Welcome to the Poulan thread! In your picture just under the handle I see one of the rear handle antivibe sides and just under the bar is the "u" bracket. That makes it a S25CVA. Keep page 1926 bookmarked of this thread so you can refer to Acornhill's pictures for the fuel line routing. I will PM you the IPL for when you put it back together. I looked at your other posts- if the piston and cylinder are OK and you have spark you probably just need new fuel line, air filter and carb kit. It's just me but with the fuel filter I have flushed them with carb cleaner and reused.

I have three Poulan saws that were re-paints. Two 3700's (yellow underneath) and a Craftsman 3400 (green on the rear handle underneath the red). I think it would have been relatively common to re-paint saws if the inventory mix on parts wasn't right and they had to dip into their painted stock to meet shipments. I suspect they kept inventory in painted form to keep corrosion off the parts.

With so many re-branded saws it may have happened a few times at least. Does that look like Dayton orange?
This was back a ways but: I have a John Deere 80. With Echo red under the yellow and a John Deere 23 that is Remington red under the green.

I bet they were pulled out of regular production to fill an order from the Deere company.

Wow thanks guys! I kind of want to replace any wear items I can while I have it torn apart. The carb looked fairly clean but like I said the rest was trash. The amount of oily sawdust crud I scraped out of it was impressive. Any good places to get these parts from? Once again thanks so much for the help. I'm an aircraft mechanic by trade and have always been into cars and motorcycles but this stuff is all new to me.

A lot of the parts can be found on Ebay, but a lot of guy on here have spare parts too that we are willing to part with to help someone out. Let us know what you need if you can't find it online.

Now that I'm thinking I would take a good look at the oiling system also.

Only part that is really scarce is the oil pump diaphragm. I need two and damn if I can find any.....at a reasonable cost. Saw one on EBay for $35 or so.

I need to pick up some fuel line for a S25DA, since we are on the topic, what is the correct size for replacement?

Yeah I don't even list mine for sale anymore because of the ridiculous prices going on right now. Goes for my 3400 diaphragms and micro check valves

I think it's 1/8" ID X 3/16" . There's one place on ebay that sells an off brand "Tygon-Type" - 5 ft for $5.99, 10 ft for $9.99 or 25ft for $14.99 shipped. As many saws as we go through, I try to have a couple extra ft on hand.

Thanks, I'm gonna try and pick some up on the way home.

Is there a way to soften them, maybe letting it soak in diesel fuel.

Steve

Try brake fluid.

I have it straight from the horse's mouth that there is someone who will be reproducing the 3400 etc oiler diaphragms and gaskets so they should be on the market soon.

Would anyone be interested in plain S25 oiler diaphragms without the pintles? You would have to remove and reuse your originals.
