Got to let the paint cure a bit more and fabricate a muffler baffle for it then I can't wait to get to the wood pile with it.
This thing has got crazy hard to pull compression and a real crack to the exhaust. The long stroke in this one really sounds off.
Chris was over yesterday and I had him start it, the shape my shoulder is in, I'm not sure I want to try this one.
I didn't start out wanting to do a paint job on it but the case was cracked and I had to get it welded, so it had to get tore all the way down to do that. I'm like a kid in a candy store on this one.
For those that don't know, this is the biggest displacement one man chainsaw that Poulan ever produced at 100cc

I did get the FD-100 to the woodpile yesterday and it run perfect. Got to run Chris's big old restored 1951 IEL also.
Here is the FD
Nice looking one, Mark! I like what I see.
So the local Tractor Supply company has some Bars on clearance. I believe one is a 24" 84DL, 0.050 gauge, 3/8ths pitch. Bar mount should be the factory for my 3700 and they have it mark $24. The other is, I think, a D009 in 24" 84DL, 0.058 gauge, 3/8ths pitch. It comes with a chain and is marked $60 I may have the drive link counts off. I didn't memorize them and am going of the internet resources. Question is, should I pick up either to use on my 3700 or another future saw? I would probably get the 0.058 gauge bar but I don't remember if my rim sprocket will do 0.058 gauge or just 0.050.
The rim sprocket will do all three gauges. The standard DL count for the Poulans is 81 DL on a bar that Poulan supplied with their saws. Not sure what a D009 will take.
I guess I will pick it up, so I can find out. I need to order the adaptors too.
I put d009 on my poulan with springs from the HFT spring multi pack. Perfect fit almost no play
