Just a FYI if you are thinking about pulling the piston to "clean off the carbon" on a micro series Poulan think twice unless you want to spend more time than you like.

I know some of you are laughing right now.

I give the wrist pin a small tap and find a couple microscopic needle bearings on my bench and a couple larger ones in the case. :surprised3: There are teeny tiny wonderful non-cased precision individual bearings, 12 on the crank and 20 on the wrist pin. A half hour, some grease, tweezers, small piece of copper wire (non-magnetic - any kind of magnetism on a mini screw driver or pliers will increase you installation fun) and back together. I'm sure glad I did not drink too much coffee this am. Any kind of shakes and a bearing is not going where it is supposed to.

Been there, done that. Pulled the cylinder off one to inspect the cylinder bolt threads in the case, found case threads stripped out. Well I slid the connecting rod over just a little too far, well y'all know the rest of the story, an hour later we finally got the bearings back in and rod in place.

I have a PP295 --one of the 46cc variants of this saw. A slightly modified exhaust port and a muffler mod made a big difference in performance. I am thinking this 2200 is pretty pretty just as it is.

scottr informed me that there are several sizes of 2200 so I pulled the muffler on my Special 2200 and, for the record, it measures 40mm. Also, just gloating, everything behind the muffler was almost clean as new.
