Those seals are on fleabay, you just need to put the Poulan prefix “5300” in front of your part number. 530019042
Don’t forget the crank seal on the clutch side, 530001936. That one is most likely to be the failed one, and NOT found on fleabay.
That is a sexy old saw really dig the shape of that series. Is it a repaint or original?

They are a nice brake dont look ugly like a strange add on not alot of extra weight compared to say a 10 series mac and nice and small too. I get it though I've been running an old saw without one lately. It's kinda like seatbelts in cars for me I grew up knowing nothing but always wearing it yet for my old man was always a battle.
Has anyone experienced a kick recently that threw the brake? I never have yet touch wood. I use 9 inch angle grinders all day and it becomes very natural to avoid the danger quarter of the disk same as a saw and if your expecting a kick then your ready for it but it's those dodgy fatigued moments of silliness that worry me
Never had a kick back in my life, but I don't try to cut with the end of the bar either unless the whole bar is buried.

I was conversing with a guy that was running a 5200 that pinched in the cut with a 28" bar buried when he was bucking up a tree.
It kicked the entire unit out of the log and hit him in the leg. Bad bruise. Good thing it wasn't his middle leg.
I can only imagine what a big gear drive would do.

I can relate to that, I had a couple bruises from running my ported 90+cc saw and pinched in the under buck two different times and it shot out and hammered my quad, I about dropped to ground, it was a natural reaction getting hit that hard right then, then I turned around and done it again, but wasn't near as bad
I can imagine a big gear drive hurting too but it probably wouldn't shoot out quite as fast
