You guys just carry on then. I really miss a lot of the knowledgeable guys that used to post in this thread.
guessing i just got impatient plus old fingers plus being screamed at from the back door plus tying to install without gasket ad infinitum. bottom line, not enough hands and i got tired of fooling with it. will keep it in mind for another, future ocassion. It was Tim (fossil) who put me onto the 7700/4900 rings I had to cut at a rough guess 1.5mm mm off the end
I had no trouble getting them in the bore on the piston just popping in 1 side in and then use a wooden pick to pop in the other side and done. It's done many many many tanks of fuel since like quite a good few hours. Until the clutch got crook it came on every wood trip and still going good as gold. Todd gave me the ring gap specs from an oem set he measured.
Now you could in theory tighten up that gap for more go go but it will be mean on the pulley so I never did.
My favorite wooden pick is to sneak a couple kebab skewers from the kitchen there quite strong can be sharpened up again and again.
I have never objected to someone doing just this, its not the same as what I was speaking of. As for the knowledge, there used to be a lot of very knowledgeable people here but have been driven away from here from the BS. I'm losing interest real fast again.Mark thanks for the heads up on the 4000 . I think it is good to do it this way. A note or a link to the item.
I have used your knowledge before and hope I can in the future.
You should object, it will get stupid againIf anyone wants to sale something on here, I'm not going to say anything, just so you know.
I have been to other forums, including beg for manuals, with no response. That is why I asked here, as a last resort. I have spent my life fixing things, sometimes for people I don't like, but because it was broken and I wanted to see it working. I don't know why you got off about me, I just asked a question. I didn't attack you and even thanked you for the PDF.This isn't the buy and sell thread, there are classifieds in the main forums here for that. There is also a beg for manuals thread here you could have used for that manual also. Just sayin.
Thanks to all for the kind remarks. I understand I'm classified as a newbie on this site, because I don't have many posts. I am on numerous and varied forums, and don't respond unless I can ADD to the conversation. I dont type fast so I don,t enter idle chatter to forums on a daily basis, so for me to get thuousands of posts it would take me decades.I'm with Todd. I dont have the older stuff. But have some of the 80's 90's up to 2000 stuff.
I'm here if you need anything. Least ask i may have extra parts.
I dont collect so not married to it most times.
You were given the link to the beg for manuals thread, but you never posted in it to ask for a manual. If they would not have had it, Ray would have probably sent me a message to see if I had it.I have been to other forums, including beg for manuals, with no response. I don't want this either, is there any written rules that would make this easier to figure out. Can a person post a 4sale in here or not. Or is it just been that way from the beginning.
I'm staying neutral on this. I like all you guys and hate to hear the spat. I know times are tough right now but it will get better. I was asked today if I wanted to take leave from work for awhile and I turned them down. I'm felt needed and people will need their cars going. Too many rookies in the shop, me and another tech is scared to turn them loose. If we weren't here, they would be calling us up to try to solve a problem over the phone. I don't want to be cooped up in the house, I'd go nuts.

You don't think anyone else has a issue with it? I don't speak for everyone else, ever, why are you? I never said anything out of line and I'm not the hall monitor either. At one point it was bad here with guys coming here begging for stuff, others trying to promote the own feeble forums etc. I'm in this thread for Poulan saws like our buddy Nik was when he started this thread. Your welcome to ignore me if you like.
