So, here's one of my 4000's. I've been searching for years for a 3400-4000 full wrap handle and finally located one in Canada. I had to grab it, and yes it may have been a CAD moment. Remember, CAD comes in many shapes and forms. I have a friend on AS and elsewhere (you know who you are!) who has a NOS one he wisely hangs on to, but who provided me pictures years ago that fully began the addiction/drive to find one. I like the way it looks and feels, but need to put it in wood to really learn about performance.
Good for you!!

I can't tell but if those are like split guides, try clamping on to them with vice grips and tapping on them with a hammer to see if they move. Looks like what that's used as the guide on engine cylinder block to head. I have squeeze them enough they would come out.

Steve from my moto g(7) play using Tapatalk
They are split guides. I was able to heat the surrounding area and using a vice grip, able to twist the pin. However, I can’t get it to raise at all. Problem is the vice grip slips off the pin and I’m tightening the pliers as much a possible. Time to move on and get the saw running. Replaced crank seals and rebuilt carb. Won’t stay running so I’ll have to pull carb and see what’s up.

Good afternoon all. So, I've taken time to work on a couple of my Poulans. The first is a 5200 I've had for a little over a year. Nice saw, good runner, and purchased from the original owner's Son. I added a full wrap handle to it recently for aesthetics and functionality. I think it looks and feels good. Max. Man I'd love to find a full wrap for mine.
Yours appears to be in very nice condition.

If its not to much trouble could you post a bottom picture of that handle?
AWESOME find BTW.

Seems like this thread can’t be hijacked, so I’ll add my Poulan experience. First time Poulan owner last week. Found this on CL. 4200. Seemed not too beat up, reeked like paint thinner. I hoped that meant it wasn’t burned up but perhaps just me being optimistic (inspection later appears p&c good). Fuel lines broke off when pulling carb. Chain was installed backwards. Oil reservoir had used motor oil in it (understand that is sometimes used). Cleaned carb and reinstalled G&d while waiting on rebuild kit. Saw runs now, won’t accelerate well. Fuel pump diaphragm was stiff as a board. Hope that will solve the problem.

One thing I’m not sure about, the chain seemed to stop fairly quickly (I was able to rev it somewhat). It has quick tensioner. Seemed like chain would not turn too easily when chain cover was tightened down (even though tension not overly tight). Is that normal? Clutch drum seemed smooth when bar off the saw. Spins freely. Pics to follow when I get to computer. Thanks. Patrick

Patrick , your chain stopping quick and the chain not turning easily with the cover tightened down on your PP4218AVX is probably a worn drive sprocket .

An EZ Out will expand the roll pin but may still get it out, could also scar the inside of the slot unless you get the right size to fit just the top. Compress them with needle nosed vice grips, twist and pry up. Then you could possibly use blue lock-tite to reset it to the proper height, or as suggested, put something in the hole to prevent it from moving down. Don't think I would use JB Weld to put it back in because you might need to take it out again.
I'm not the one looking for info. I was helping. But maybe he will see your post too.

Thanks Scott. Can you help me understand - why would that cause it to stop quickly?

The sprocket wear does not allow a smooth flat surface for the drive link .
If you try to pull the chain on the bar from saw out to the bar nose you will be able to feel that resistance .

Pics of the 3400-4000 wrap handle as requested. Sorry, it's pic heavy as I wanted to provide as much detail as possible. Max.
