Someone has to have done this? Come on, its the Christmas season and the time for giving!

Thinking outside the box, I think it will try to lengthen the pins by grinding down the head of a screw or nail to fit the OD of the roll pins.
The screw or nail should be a slip fit into the roll pins so you don't swell them and JB weld it into the roll pin.

Pretty simple fix if you want to take the time.

Possibly trying a pair of needle nose vise grips to compress the pin with a lever (screwdriver, I have a small pry bar 5", etc) under the vise grips to pry it out. Just my first thought, just read this.

Actually, expanding on this, find a nut that fits the outside diameter, use the JB Weld, then use a socket wrench on it, with pressure under the nut to put outward force while turning.

Hello fellas.
I have a Poulan S25Da that is not oiling with the pulse driven side of the pump or the thumb button.
The diaphragm is trashed which explains why the automatic oiler does not work.

The thumb button will not move up and down so I took the oiler off and made sure nothing was blocked or bound up. I put the oiler back on and pumped the thumb button a dozen times or so and it felt like when the oil reached the pump the button got hard and would not move.

Does the diaphragm have to be in good shape for the manual thumb oiler to work?
Any ideas?

Thank you.

Here is a pic of the issue
I can't tell but if those are like split guides, try clamping on to them with vice grips and tapping on them with a hammer to see if they move. Looks like what that's used as the guide on engine cylinder block to head. I have squeeze them enough they would come out.

Yeah they ought to come out.Wonder if packing grease in the hole and getting a snug fit piston-like device in the center, then tapping the center like a throwout bearing coming out of a crankshaft?

Yes they are just rolled pins with split.

An EZ Out will expand the roll pin but may still get it out, could also scar the inside of the slot unless you get the right size to fit just the top. Compress them with needle nosed vice grips, twist and pry up. Then you could possibly use blue lock-tite to reset it to the proper height, or as suggested, put something in the hole to prevent it from moving down. Don't think I would use JB Weld to put it back in because you might need to take it out again.

It does not, they are separate functions.

Any ideas?

Thank you..

I assume you have taken off the outlet oil tubing to the bar pad & checked for any obstructions.

Sounds like you need to replace the pump body, as the two midget sized check valves are blocked or faulty.

Good afternoon all. So, I've taken time to work on a couple of my Poulans. The first is a 5200 I've had for a little over a year. Nice saw, good runner, and purchased from the original owner's Son. I added a full wrap handle to it recently for aesthetics and functionality. I think it looks and feels good. Max. IMG_0247.jpgIMG_0248.jpgIMG_0249.jpgIMG_0250.jpg

So, here's one of my 4000's. I've been searching for years for a 3400-4000 full wrap handle and finally located one in Canada. I had to grab it, and yes it may have been a CAD moment. Remember, CAD comes in many shapes and forms. I have a friend on AS and elsewhere (you know who you are!) who has a NOS one he wisely hangs on to, but who provided me pictures years ago that fully began the addiction/drive to find one. I like the way it looks and feels, but need to put it in wood to really learn about performance.
