Couple guys putting the full wraps on this series of poulans in low and high tops.

2022 the 365 in CRG FB and just now 2024 by a younger guy on his.

Also mentioning FW's I have to date only seen one 4000 with FW. Anyone seen any of these in FW 34-40?
Which handle is on that 3.3?

Hey everyone, good afternoon. I saw the thread earlier in the week regarding Poulan 3400-4000 full wrap handles but became sidetracked. I found one on eBay years ago and have it mounted on a 4000 saw. I've cut with it once, really liked it, and haven't used it since I love full wrap handles and have only seen the one example I was fortunate enough to buy. Max.

Just so you know we were talking about the aftermarket poulan 4000 stuff today in CRG.

SawSalvage.co is the 4000 aftermarket topend deal dead in water now?

Wasn't happy with some things, they done have imperial tooling, too many tweaks made, wrist pins not tight enough, had to change intake/muffler bolts, order qty on cylinder was 1000, piston qty 2000, but bore changed slightly to meet metric, so pistons incompatible with OEM cylinders. Too many caveats.

I wanted to provide additional views on the bottom of the handle as it mounts to the saw chassis. Pretty interesting. Max.
Leeching your photos to save to thread for safe keeping. To many pics come up missing here over the years.

That's a sad story.

Well we just need to get Todd tooled up and into production of the 272 cylinder conversion:)

Best 4000 anyone could run

She lives shortly after. I picked up last year as non runner for 5.

I was curious if it was 36cc for real and did bore stroke back then. This one was 36cc 1-5 are.

Got more in carb kit and echo oem lines.

Drilled the tank for 3x5 too.

That is a nice saw, light and strong running. Biggest problem is the wrist pin and the way you have to mount the needle bearings. If I get some extra time I'll look into finding a better way to make the change. I have been told that there is more than one way to change a poulan. Think it's skin a cat.The carb adapter would be easier now with 3D printing. So many ideas and so little time. Take care everyone.

Look what followed me home!
This was from a man my parents took in as a teenager and gave him a place to live as he finished high school. We still consider each other brothers. I tried to pay him but he said take the money and buy Bibles to give to kids in my Bible that don't have one.IMG_20240212_162549690_HDR.jpg

I gave a bunch of those cases away to a echo guy north of me. He brought me 3 older poulans I traded and sold him 3 older echo's.

I end up with a pile of the dang things here over time.

This one I let go with saw for 10 bucks to keep the early matching set. Sold saw for 10 too if I recall right.
