Exactly. I plan to clear most of it out and reclaim the space.

Hello all... I have an old 70's dayton 2z760 which is based on poulan 20d. I had to take it all apart because the lines were dust among other things. I have taken saws apart before but mostly worked on newer stuff. This is my first one of a couple old ones and these are more challenging. Don't even get me started on the uncaged roller bearings lol.
Issue: I have an idea where the fuel line goes but want to confirm. There is a hole at the top of the side of the case in the gas tank area. I assume it's filter then line and then it goes up through the hole and then is routed along the case to the carb?
Issue: Oil pump. I see how the manual over-ride works and where that goes. I understand the pump comes out of the side and has two little ports. What I don't get is - where does the line go? Is it just one? I see a little hole in the case for that as well. There was an end of sorts in the tank rolling around. I think that is the check valve but it doesn't look like the one on the IPL. The most baffling part - if there is a line - where on the pump does it go?

I'd be happy to watch a video on it or if there is another thread here to explain. I looked around and so far - no luck. I would just try it myself - but I am afraid that I will have to REDO all the gaskets again and split the case if I get it wrong. The fun here is getting it running and using it some and having fun learning. I know the saw probably isn't much. Thanks everyone.

It’s been over 15 years, but the oiler impulse line is a built up assembly in the oil tank, see page 10.

Only saw I kept in this size was dad's bought new 3300 from 94.

I'm purging fellas. If you need something, let me know....View attachment 1225553View attachment 1225554litter buckets have top covers, starters etc. I may keep the 5020 for now and try one more time with it. I actually like the feel of the saw, but patience is wearing in thin on it.
I wish I lived a lot closer to you, I'd come get some of those if I did.

There are two black and blues and another yellow within 100 miles. Soooo tempting .

Thought I posted this earlier but can't find it. I recently picked up a low comp black CRaftsman 3300. Gen 1 per ur earlet discussion. Pulled cylinder to see it has one ring. I had previously ordered two rings part # 530030176. Do you knoiw what the correct part# is? Chrome piston bare bore saw. Only single ring saw I can compare it to is the PP335. Thoughts?

Are you saying you have a black gold 3.3 like a 3300?

Then dads bought new 3300. Seems some had 1 and some 2.

Yellow 335 was 2 thin rings and a bare piston

Bob - you posted your earlier message in the Partner thread...

FWIW, I have one NOS 12200 cylinder that I rediscovered in the attic this week getting parts organized, a search says it fits the 3300. There are gaskets and a muffler shield/deflector in the box with the cylinder.

I also rediscovered one NOS 12069 cylinder that research says fits a 3700.

Just letting you all know that these are available.

@redunshee I found your other post with Mark's info above. Never seen 1 thin ring on poulan only 2 thin rings on chrome bore saws. Sure your not seeing 1 thick ring 1.5mm

redunshee = I posted this initially on Facebook but had no response. Picked up a black Craftssman 3300 saw(358.356333) with low comp.(90psi). Thinking it had two rings I ordered part$ 530030176. Pulled the cylinder and saw it had one thin ring. Poulan 3300 IPL shows two rings and the only single ring saw I can find is the PP335. Has the same oart # as the ones I ordered. Did I oreder the correct ring?

2 thin and thick 1 ring shown all chrome bore cylinders

Are you sure your dealing with black gold bare bore with chrome piston? I know I swap mine out with a chrome bore and single ring 335 red, 330, 3450 piston. Build of one below. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/poulan/craftsman-3-3-358-356331-54cc/msg89040/#msg89040

Thats how the red 335, back blue 3.3 are done.
Could be. I did measure the ring and it was close to 1.5mm. It just looks thinner than what I’m used to. Question is did I order the correct ring?

Def 1.5mm thick. That not thin rings that are in two's.

Used in alot of saws too 335 red, 3.3 black blue, 330 3450 a few off top of my head. I swear I recall them being 46.5mm bore too. Would have to double check me on that. Cant retain it all anymore.

Right ring as I cant recall what you listed 530030176

Well, that's what I ordered. Ordered from "the Greek".
