I have not found any printed info on them Ed. When Bob first let me know he had this saw a few years ago I tried to find some solid printed info about them. In all of my factory service manuals and even my collection of inside factory memo`s between management and engineering there is no mention of the Export models. David Shand sent lots of inside directives to and recieved a great many back from the engineers , designers and floor workers . The service bulletins sometimes give up snippets of info also but not on this particular saw.

I'm having a hard time not putting some gas in that thing to hear what it sounds like. (like you did with that Homelite 1050, but that was fun to hear it run.) But you're only a virgin once.

Shoot its been so long for me I might as well be a born again virgin. Rofl

Nice saw though bob. I would have fired that beeotch up by now though.

What an amazing find! Pioneer made the best stock mufflers in my opinion. Where does it say super? In the literature hanging off the handle? Wow, that is one rare beast of a saw.
Thanks for sharing, Kevin

Pioneer was not one for molding in terms like Super into the castings of their parts. If it was deemed to be a super saw it would show up on the serial/model tag as an ,"S", followong the model number. Otherwise it would be a sticker located on the airfilter cover, in this case I would bet it is a sticker on the airfilter cover, cheaper to make and the export saws were just painted over regular models. If that dark green was carefully peeled back most of those parts on that saw would be already light yellow/green.

Bob-

That is one cool old Pioneer for sure. I might have an interesting trade- a mint, early 154XP that sat in a guy's attic for almost 20 years. I'm getting ready to put a new fuel system in it and make it a runner.

Yeah, the word "super" is on the red/gold decal on the air filter cover. The serial tag has 2400 L above the serial number which is 563545
