At first I thought some of the branches were just being slow to bud but it seems the branches might be dying?

I am pretty sure a neighbor had the same thing happen to their tree. It got progressively worse over about 3 years and they cut it down.

I'll sit back see what others say as not to clear on what going on...Its similar to die back or slow decline in tree vigor but as i'm unsure of species or your environment inputs will defer to your state side mob

To help begin diagnosis has the patient suffered drought heat wave or been affected by pesticide herbicide or even fertilizer for the lawn or had impact the root system by digging or surface grade change ??
