Seeing I am new at the purchasing aspect. Suggestions for finding a 20" bar for an 026? Not sure I really NEED to go with Stihl bar, but I dont want junk either. Trying to find the best bang for the buck...ya know.

Suggestions?

Go to Bailey's - talk to Greg. I recently purchased one of the narrow kerf bars with the 20 NK chain for a 55 Husky which cuts great but it's not a heavy duty bar. 20" is on the long of a 260 but it should handle the .325 narrow kerf well.

20" is all you see out here on 026's. Not much hardwood, guess thats why.

I looked there, all I saw was brand names I had never heard of. Was kinda skeptical on the quality.

I second this. the brands Baileys carries are pretty good brands. Gregg will take care of ya good.

So just buy a stihl bar... They aren't that much more expensive for the same quality.

Sorry, I must agree here, I would love to run the Stihl ES bars on my Husky's. AWSOME bars, they wear great!!! And seem to last 3 to 1 vs. the stock Husky bar.

Whats the difference between the ES and the Pro?

Not sure what you mean by "pro". The Stihl bars come in two main flavors : "E" and "ES". The "E" is a lighter weight laminated bar with non-replaceable tip (you can replace the sprocket but won't need to). The ES is a solid bar, heavier, and has a replaceable tip. About $10 more for ES than E.

I use ES.
