Oak score!

Tree down blocking the road to work yesterday. Before I could get my saw and get back this morning someone had taken all but 12 feet of this trunk. I got the 261 and slabbed off 7 good size chunks for the fire pit. Hard to pass up wood this nice, should split up nicely!

The normal culprits are a poorly sharpened chain, worn bar groove or mismatched chain gauge to the bar.

I thought that at first but after staring at it, it looks like the shaggy bark of a White Oak and the little grain that you can see looks more like Oak than Maple. I'll stick with White Oak.
