Hey all
Just wondering if any of you can shed light on an injury that just found the second production arborist friend in a period of about a month. Basically their elbow (can't remember which side) swelled up to an alarming size and required a hospital visit to drain fluids for both guys. Both of them claim there was no contact or cuts and no pain whatsoever up until the morning after the draining of the fluids. I'd appreciate any feedback because both of these fellas are looking at long term recoveries and not really sure what caused it in the first place.

wow ive had tennis elbow(and still do) but man that is rough. i have no idea what it is. but maybe from over exursion and extended chainsaw vibration for a few long days?

During the winter, I slipped on a slick spot made by using a backhoe to plow a road at a substation. When I slipped, (I didnt actually fall) I wacked my elbow on part ot the front end of a truck . About two or three months later after working all day my elbow suddenly was the size of an orange. I had no pain either. I iced it all weekend and by monday it was almost normal again. perhaps your friend injured himself a little and thought nothing about it ,then forgot the incident. I almost did.

It sounds as though that's an accurate diagnosis. I'm going to assume that both ended up with infections to boot, as they're both on antibiotics and in a fair bit of pain at this point. Cruddy way to start the season to say the least. Thanks for the info guys

google "bursitis" or "tendonitis" or "tennis elbow".
