I happened to look at one of my posts and found that I am a Senior member. I like that, but I just wondered how I qualified for that. I also noticed that above my feedback little green things I got a star thing. What is that and how did I get it. I really tried to find this stuff, but I must be a poor searcher or something cause I couldn't find it. It's just nice to know. Thanks and please excuse my ignorance. JR

Most of the time the little green things and the stars mean you don't ask dumb questions.:) :) Do a search for reputation. That should line you out.

After a certain amount of posts you become a senior member. After so many rep green thingies, they change color and then become one big star thingy. At least that's how I understand it.

Well I have gotten old. Turned 58 on election night. I have found that there is more gravity than there used to be. I used to be able to dunk a basketball, not sure that I can touch the rim any more. Obviously that is because of the increase in gravity. We should not be worried about global warming (no sign of that here) we should be looking into this gravity thing. JR

After 500 post you become an Arboristsite MVP. I'm one of the more junior members age wise I just turned 28.

I also feel the increased gravity - and I am "only" 51.

Btw, you turn into a "senior member" at post #100, so that title must have been there for a while........:Eye: :Eye:

As my High School English teacher used to say"There is no such thing as a dumb question." In a perfect AS world members will give you reputation when you post something positve or helpful. Or you could check out the Beg for mow rep thread and have fun passing out and recieving rep. I like doing both.I will say it feels good to look at your rep and see someone acknowledges a thread or post that you have put up.

Dumb questions are ones that don't get asked. I was sort of wondering about this stuff too. All I can say is I hope nobody takes this rep stuff seriously. Do I only need a few more little orange boxes before I get my first yellow star? What I can't figure out is how well I am doing.

Gravity? I hadn't though about that. I guess there is proof every time I step on a scale. Maybe it has pulled the floors and ground down. I did notice years ago they became farther down.

You need to start a second row of orange before you get a "nova" yellow star. As for worrying about your rep I wouldnt either. If your on long enough and post enough others will get to know whether you are reputable or not.:)

If you desperately want some rep there's a beg for rep thread. I think people just swap out positive reps. Kinda like you scratch my back and I'll scratch yours. I guess it's all in fun though.

JR...You get rep from me for asking the question I was too shy:cheers: to ask! I too searched everywhere and couldn't find the answer. Seems that would be a sticky or at least on the FAQ page...Carl

Think of it as more of a popularity contest, you're slowly becoming one of the good ole boys...

Wow

That's a huge compliment, given the knowledge of some on this board. If I know anything about chainsaws it's because I joined AS. I know a little about a lot of things, and a lot about a few things, but I am a novice here at best. I do however feel that I know a lot of members, and I really do know some. Thanks to all who have taken time to answer. I understand better now. JR
