image.jpeg Just finished putting my skidsteer back together (Gehl HL4400). My question is how much pressure should be going through the hydraulic cooler? Because the cooler line that goes from the valve bank to the cooler keeps bursting. Any help is appreciated!

Sounds like some kind of blockage in the cooler. Is the machine working between hose ruptures? Could even be ice from condensation blocking the cooler or a low spot in the line between the cooler and the tank. Similar happened on my chipper

I dont think its a blockage. Its weird tho its blew 3 times now in the same spot in the past 10 hours of machine use. Its not really a burst it just blows a pinhole through the hose. The hose im using is rated at 250 psi I would hope that would be enough.

Shouldn't be making that much pressure on the return. Maybe try going up a size diameter as it would flow better and reduce pressure

Thats what I dont understand, its just a cooler line. But if i go with bigger diameter hose it'll fit to loose on the barbed fittin'.

I was hoping it was a crimped fitting and you could just go up to a larger hose with the same size ends.
Is the filter after the cooler? If so that's a convenient fix

Yes but I just got done replacing ALL the hydraulic fluid, the pre-filter, and main spin-on filter. So I would think it'd be a clean system.? Very frustrating!

I had a buddy that got bad fluid. Had small plastic pieces. He replaced 50gal. and then had to do it all again. The pieces clogged his control circuits on his crane
