Got her going today. Replaced a list of worn parts and new seals and rubber parts. First start up after 15yrs.

Thanks. It's defiantly been some work. After the parts and the time building, painting and hunting parts I'm sure I could have got a new saw. But it was about building my dad's saw and giving it back to him is what meant more to me. Thanks for everyone's help.
 
I have a question for those guys that have these old saws. The specs say max rpm 8000. That seems really fat. And I'm running 40:1 mix. As soon as my air filter comes in I'm putting it in some wood so I want to have a idea on what I'm tuning at. At first it was running 9200 and that had a good four stroke.
 
I think that the 8000 is maximum operating RPM (in the wood) versus maximum unloaded RPM.

Tune the saw by ear to four stroke unloaded and so it cleans up in wood and you'll be fine.
