Customer dropped this off to see if it was fixable, needs a recoil spring but...i can rock the flywheel back and forth about .012" and turned over you can hear it clunk as the crank deflects.

Are bearings and seals available?

Tore it down to the crank and case. The ball bearing on the flywheel side looks okay. Needs replaced...but its alright, all the play is on the clutch side. Havent gone any further to see if the needles ate the crank

I seen lots of Mac parts from one seller on flea bay few days ago for those model saws.
For example, cranks, pistons, rings, carbs, gaskets, complete blocks, etc
Sorry I do not remember the name of the seller

I've got some of them old Mac's and like to play with them, but I would not want one of them old Mac's to be my only saw when I went to cut wood.
Yeah its a block of lead, 83cc 6000rpm saw.

This list was prepared by Eccentric and others some while back. I am sure you will find the parts are all available over the counter from any good bearing shop. According to the IPL's I looked at the PTO side on the 250 would be a needle bearing.

Front Tank Mac

-Open piston pin bearing: Koyo B-88.

-Closed piston pin bearing: Koyo M-871.

-FW seal: 50663. SKF/CR 6763. Possibly also SKF 6522 (unconfirmed)

-PTO seal for ball bearing saws: 104432. SKF 6640. SKF 6816.

-PTO seal for needle bearing saws: 104128. SKF 7414.

-FW Bearing: 100824. POSSIBLY the same as 66016 as used on the top tank saws....and POSSIBLY 6203 C3. Will investigate.....

-PTO Bearing for ball bearing saws: 100824. See above.

-PTO Bearing for needle bearing saws: 104129.

Yes, the ipl i downloaded earlier does show needle bearings on the pto side. Do you know if the 6203C3 bearing was confirmed? If so that only leaves the needle bearing and i keep crossing to a Tecumseh needle bearing but can't verify its the same

You will find that used parts for the Mac's are priced all over the place.
AND remember:
experience is what you get when you buy something that is not what you thought you were buying.

I sometimes go to https://store.chainsawr.com/ to review info about old saws.
Parts and general info and can also see interchange of parts and pieces.
