Late 50's trim crew. I believe this is the same model chipper I have. The gas tank sat atop the motor, right above the muffler! There is a small tool box where they put the gas tanks on todays models.

Great pics, I have to laugh at the metal ladder near the power lines, no cones around the truck in the street, No PPE at all on any workers, A safety officers dream come true But it looks like they were all having fun

That older model chipper is very much like the drum chippers of today, just a little bit different and much older. They havent changed all that much since they were introduced many years ago.
