There is a way to spot another tree person three days after they've cut down and handled the wood or sawdust from an oak tree. Do you know what it is ?

Stains from tannins?

I go with that.
With gloves on oak tannin still seems to stain your hands ,and need to give your saws a touch up....

One thing i dont get is people cable bracing oaks with metal bolts, apart from none invasive bracing is available the oaks tannin either eats the bolts ,or usually does not heal properly.

Ha, I see you are a fellow Floridian and probably cutting the same live oaks and especially those water and lurel oaks I cut for firewood. Tis true, you can't get rid of that coloration. To me, its no biggie.
