Ok. I' admit I'm a doofus. I have a small Craftsman chainsaw that runs on a 16 to 1 mix, and a Toro weedeater that uses the same mix.

I had to borrow my father in laws older Homelite XL saw for a while, and ran it out of gas. I dumped some 16:1 in it, and it ran for a minute and sputtered and died. I then realized it required a 40:1 mix. I dumped the tank, and checked the plug and all looks to be ok. Have I done any permanent damage to his saw?

I think I'm ok as the 16:1 is just a more oil heavy mix, and not the other way around. As far as I can tell the biggest danger of running a richer mix like that is fouling the plug and building up carbon over time. The very short time I ran it on 16:1 should be ok, I just wanted to ask a 2nd opinion. Thanks.:help:
