Sometimes things just get away from you.

Dropped a nice birch that took a smaller balsam with it. The balsam reckage keep the last 15 feet of the tree suspended off the ground.

Pinched the bar when the log jammed against the previous round and went to kick it out of the way. As it came free the saw went down and the log came right onto it.

Luckily it came down slow enough and the snow helped cushion the landing. Not a scratch on the new 562.

You're on immediate 562 restriction and suspension...the saw must be sent to middle Ga while you serve your sentence. Lucky dawg slick for it to have no damage.

@svk If you remember, I told you to be careful of things falling when you were out cutting. You were warned:laughing:
:happybanana::laughing::happybanana:
Glad nothing was damaged.

I'll give you $125.00 for the saw right now. After all that saw has had a tree dropped on it and can't be worth much. Go buy a lotto ticket you are on a lucky streak.

gets a nice new saw..and trys to destroy it........................:dizzy::dizzy::D

If you has a stihl ,it would have cut it faster and not had this problem ;)
Good to see it was ok .

Just saw this. If you look in the snow you can see where the saw landed and then how the log sliding sideways off the balsam rolled it into its side.

you need to thank someone.......................................................I cut a large ash down on the acreage some years ago.. what I didn't know,, was a bad spot,, just inside the bark, just in one area.........right where it wasn't needed!!!!!!!!!!! nice notch,, cutting just perfect,, heard a SLIGHT crack,, and that !!!!! spun backwards, with a twist.. faster than I could remove the 254 oly!!! grrrrr..the aftermath?? well, side cover busted, stud twisted up out of the case, cracking it,,dogs bent, bar bent.....I made a slug, out of a piece of grade two 1/2 inch bolt, oversized drilled the case,,as he hadn't went into the oil tank,,,drilled the center of the slug, then coated the outside of slug with red Loctite, and the case, and screwed the slug into the case,,and taped over the hole.. next day, center the bar plate,,and drilled the hole to right size,,and tapped it,,then put the new stud in. bought new cover,,as saw was only few years old, twisted the bar back straight. [yes you can] then went to sawing!! still have the saw!! told on this forum many years ago,,how to use a bolt to repair a broken case.....happen to know of one,,that uses this quite regular...
