Just wondering if I could get some constructive criticism on the proposed graphics a local sign shop make up for my new chip truck. The truck is in the shop right now getting the platform built to haul my new Boxer mini skid. A platform on the front of the truck will hold the new grapple getting built. The truck will be painted white like the one in the photo but the new 60" toolboxes will be black (not white like in photo)

I appreciate any comments. Sorry graphics look grainy in mockup. Fishished graphics will have crisp lines. Thanks - AP

To be honest.. it looks a little busy (to me). It seems sort of redundant to put all that on the box, and still letter the doors too.

What did you take off the mancab to make room for the machine? good idea.

I'm just lettering the doors on the new (to me) international that I just got back from getting painted. Sometimes less is more imho (cheaper too).

People know who I am around here anyway.. no sense in beating them over the head with it.

Yeh, the shop pulled the mancab off today. They'll build a headache rack to protect the cab and 7' ramps (similar to those that slide under the bakck of a dump trailer) to load the boxer mini skid. The tool boxes connected to the mancab won't be re-useable so I'm ordering new Buyer boxes.

thanks for your input.

I'm with mds on it looking too busy. It seems to be the way more people are moving though so I guess it comes down to personal taste. Your trucks are an advertisement and convey what sort of business you run. I try not to go "over the top" in any form of advertising. I don't want people to think I'm hungry for work and end up attracting the wrong clientele. I make sure they see my logo, my business name, and more recently, my website and let the customer do the leg work. Check my website, my references, you WANT to hire me, it's not I that needs YOUR work. I may be over-thinking the fact that a lettering job on a truck means this much but IMO, it does. Less is sometimes more. Do you have a website? Make sure you put that on there in bold letters if you do. More important than a phone number IMO.

The graphics look fine. It's the truck that's grainy! :D

Looks good to me except for one thing - AREA CODE!!!!

You may not have multiple area codes NOW, but you WILL. Sooner or later, you WILL.

Do you really want to repaint everything when (not IF) that happens?

You've never been to South Dakota, have you? It will be a LONG time before SD needs more than one area code. LONG TIME.

That said, I agree with you that it sould be on the truck just to avoid confusion.

Thanks.

How about this one?

Any thoughts on this one - better, worse than original? (see 1st post)

7.4L Gas. runs out nice.

So, you buying my mini so I can pay for the paint job and graphics.....................? :)

Depends how much you let me beat you up on the price. lol  I like the second one better fwiw.

2nd looks the best for me. I went to sturgis sd and spent 2 weeks riding the bike around the area.Dude...an arborist would starve in the areas i was in...you should put your money in a bar!

:) East River SD and West River SD are two completely different landscapes. With the exception of the Black Hills area, you won't find many trees West River - it's mostly rolling hills covered with prairie or pasture land. Cross the Missouri River to the East side of the state where I'm located and you'll find that there are a few more trees - especially in the glacial floodplains where some pretty big cottonwoods can grow.

Hope you enjoyed Sturgis. I've lived here my whole life and never made it to Sturgis during the rally. Would like to - just never get around to it and always too busy in August.

I wondered why you needed lettering at all, being in SD. :)

Is this a knuckle boom type? On the front, you mean by the front bumper?

Sign guy told me that on vehicles, name and number only. People on the move will hopefully remember number till they are able to write it down, or enter in cell phone. More info will just make most forget it all?

Me personally, I like both your examples.
