I like it what was the original application of the filter?
Hanging on the wall at the parts house.

I'd run it as is, but I guess you could cut a big hole in a factory cover.That's an interesting saw Dan... You got something special coming for the cover?

See, I was thinking "SUPER HIGH TOP"
Don't have the factory cover. So I improvised.
Need to tear it down when I get above zero on finances.
Why did you get an adapter and then attach the filter to that? The filters are mean to be attached to the base w/o an adapter.
Cause Dan's got filter envy of Stephens big saw.

I have to agree
I have a 2100 with the same set up minus the adaptor.
I would think you would get less air flow with the adaptor.
What size is the hole in the adaptor where the filter mounts.
None the less, Very nice work.

There is a provision to put a directional "fin or rudder", wonder how one would measure the improvement, RPM?
What's wrong with doing nothing?:hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange::hmm3grin2orange:

I think 1" to 1" would have virtually no effect on the air intake. That filter would absolutely breath easier than the stock box though... Still think you should make it a super high top Dan!
The ticks catch up with you...
