I've got a fellow wanting to sell 25' of Oregon chain but he's not sure what size it is and there's no sizes on the box. the only info on the bow are the manf. name (Oregon) and the numbers:

34687 1287

I've got an email into Oregon, but do those numbers mean anything to anyone? I have a hunch they might be the p/n for the box :)

saw ?????

looks too be a 325 roll according to my Oregon maintenace book. if their is a number like (33 .50 gauge,34 .58 gauge,35 .63 gauge) it is 325 pitch.:D :D
34 687 1287

Nikko,

The part number 34687 is for a 25' reel package. The packaging was introduced prior 1986 and has been obsolete since 2004. So the chain could be between 3 and 20+ years old.

I can not tell what type of chain is in the package since it was used with many types.

Since it is an older chain the best thing is to get a picture showing a section of 8 drive links. The numbers on the drive links and cutters will help but the best is a picture.

If you can not get a picture, then have the guy put an 8 drive link section of the chain on a copier and send you the paper copy.

I'll be out of the office for week and a half but our tech services should be able to help you out. Or send me a PM and I will respond when I get back.

I ca<snipped>.

Thanks for the info - I've re-asked the fellow for more info but haven't heard back. I guess if he wants to sell it he'll get back to me - if not, oh well.
