Sooooooo....7:15 this evening, I get a call to rescue a parrot. Seems the folks had left the back door open....and Bogie, their African Grey, out of his cage, flew the coup.

Well, I mobilized, and drove out there. Frantic lady comes right up to my door, whilst I was casually munching on a $5 Subway oven roasted chicken footlong--yummmm....asks me where my cherry picker was.....

..anyhow, said bird was a coupla yards away, happy as could be, 30 feet up in a cedrus deodar. I tossed my rope a few feet below it, tied its cage to the end of my line, and proceeded to climb up, camera in tow (what else is new), and a package of Cheetos in a throw line sack. I'd been instructed to put some Cheetos in my mouth, take my gloves off, and utter, "Step up, Bogie", while offering my hand for a perch. Well, he watched me ascend, neither impressed or flustered....but just when I was ready to insert Cheetos in me lips and get within reach, he did what unclipped birds do.....

He, ungratefully, and without fanfare, flew off in the general direction of his home. But, as he'd never seen the back yard, for all I know, he circled around, and crossed the street to the other side, and landed somewhere low in a cedar. By the time I lowered the cage, set my friction saver, and descended, he was back in his cage....

Gave a card to the tree owner, informed them of the large storm broken branch and other pruning needs, and drove to the now relieved folk's home.

They had two other green parrots, and a mini-macaw
I think this is the macaw, I'm not sure, though..
