No no... Completely different chassis, looks similar to the 4700 5000, and the older 4600, 4900 and 5200, although the old ones had a different air filter set-up!
I Almost bought a P 5300, before I knew of AS.

The 5000 was also available as the "Formula 60 PLUS" , all black 60 year anniversary saw.
FORMULA 60 PLUS - Chainsaws

Guess the original 500/5000 chassis is forever gone!

Here are some private pics, clearly showing the different air filter cover on the 4600 V the 4700

At least with a muffler i can run it and check it out..
who da man on porting this series ??
now for the starter parts and my 500 be happy too :)

Thanks but no thanks Ron, I am happily mac free right now.:msp_tongue:

You have sent me stuff in the past and will again I'm sure. I may have a line on a couple more parts saws so if you don't get a recoil I may be able to help, if I ever get time to hunt them down.

These are great saws, I love mine.:msp_thumbup:

All the 5000+'s I have are closed port. They all just say 5000 on the model plate. I've never seen one that had the + on the tag.

I don't have a straight 5000, but it's my understanding from what I've read here and other places, the early 5000's were open and later 5000's were closed. If anybody has any info on this it sure would be appreciated. The one 5000 ipl I have shows it as an open port, but has a different part number as the 500 open port. The 5000+ is a different number also. I was told by an old Partner dealer that all 500's were open. That has been my findings.

I wonder why if the 500 and 5000 are both open port, why different part numbers? Maybe different port timing?

Ron, do you just need the plastic piece that houses the spring? I may have an extra, I'll check in the next day or two.

Yes Sir,i could get by with the plastic, just need to see a pic of how the spring hooks to the inside,or it my be simple enough i can figure it out :)
Let me know if you have it and i will PM mailing info, tnx.

Ron, you can find those recoil springs on ebay, and there useally not that much. The spring and the plastic housing around it come as a assembly.

I have some black cylinder covers for a PP325 that might work on that if you want one. Seems something was different on them because of the tank vent stuff though. I can look if you want.

Tnx Mark,i looked on ebay and didnt see anything.
if arrowhead has just the plastic i will be good.
If i'm going to use the saw i suppose the chunk missing out of the cover dont really matter..tnx anyway.

Cris,if you could be so kind as to let me know when the muff goes out ??
tnx.

It's gone Ron. I sent it airmail, I don't know if that is faster than dogsled or not.

Gotta be faster now,we dont have any snow left :)
put a b&c on it last nite. 18 in with 325 ..normal husky setup seems like.
pulled 170 lbs compression.
looked in muff and not a scratch.
think this will be a fun saw..
will search for some porting threads on it :)

Yes they just take the normal ko95 bar. A few people have ported them. I'll be watching.:)

Does anyone know where I can get poulan 325 parts for 5000 partners. Thanks.

Lots of places online. Baileys even has them, but they are a little pricey. I usually use Jackssmallengines or M&D mower. Just type in the part number in the search box.
