I hate to think so but I think it is an R-19 well according to pictures on Acers site anyway. But I honestly don't know how much you can rely on that either. On many partners he has the same generic picture, but I could not do any of what he has done so there's that too.

lt looks very similar to a partner R-16. l picked up my first Partner the other day it is a r-16 in running condition complete with owners manual. l wanted to post here to see what ya'all think about this model. l want to restore it but am worried about ruining such an original piece. ls the R-16 collectable or desired in the chainsaw world?

I find that the later partners are good saws, easy to work on and about the same performance as johny reds and huskys from the same era.
Some of the stuff makes sense like an 8mm socket takes everything off on the disassembly when stripping it down. Better than average anti vibes for the era.

Be aware that there are several misleading pictures in the Partner section of that site, specially with that model Family - and there also are some misprints. Actually, there are quite a few 55 and 65cc models that looks pretty much like the one in your pictures (yes, one of them is the R-19).

I am more at ease having you guys say that I am in hopes it is at least 65cc. Acers site is awesome but vague at the same time.
The piston looks great, the choke and on off stickers are in great shape too. It has seen some use mostly cutting fir I think. The lower portion of the handle is covered in pitch. The bar is good and the chain is full chisel and 90% new. The av is good and the underneath paint is worn but not excessively so. The thing I have to try to fix? is a horrible hard to describe squealing from the recoil?? I don't dare to let it run till I can stop that noise. I have no idea what it may be, I will take it apart to see if there is anything obviously out of place. If anyone has an idea of the source of the sound fill me in.

I have another un-related question give me your opinion if you will.
I had a guy call me last night and tell me he had a Partner 400 that "runs" and a Poulan Pro 260-LE (condition unknown) that he wants to sell. He also has 2 Stihl 028's. I do not know the condition of the Poulan pro or the Stihl's. I told him maybe on Thursday I would come over and look at them.
Give me you best guess what they are worth? I will tell you now in my mind what I am thinking. If all of them are " all there all together" The Partner 400 = $50, the Poulan Pro = $ 25-30, the Stihls maybe $ 50.00 each. But I think he said something about the stihls being in a box...?

Ok I have some more information on my mystery Partner and a few more pic's.
In the first you can see the "warm start lever" I assumed it would break when I took off the carb , I was right it did.

In the next is to show there is not even a groove warn into the recoil top from starting the saw , there is always a groove worn in.

In the next you can see the stub left on top of the carb where the warm start lever did brake off.

Next is the source of the horrible noise in the recoil, it was the Flywheel fan blade air deflector to keep cooler air near the engine. I had a donor saw that had one so I robbed that.

Next is a photo of the carb it is a Tilitson HS 1178419 I think it got double stamped at the factory I will need a kit for it.

Next is the intake side of the piston taken through the black plastic intake block.

The last is the chain this chain has been filed one time maybe it has a 16" bar made in Sweden,... Sanvik ,..I think it said, I cannot remember. They were common on Partner saws I have see many of these. I cleaned the carb and replaced the pull cord I think it was the original one at least the knots looked that way to me. I squirted a little mix in the carb and she started right up runs good. It is really bad weather outside here now so cutting with it will have to wait. Ok so the Bore Measurements are iffy at best but it is between 47.6 and 47.8mm I think I used a straw. Now to go to acres and see if that size matches up to anything.

My warm start lever was broke when I acquired the saw, so i just removed. One of the better 65cc cylinders i think.

Since we are on the subject maybe someone can help on this one? Its an 48mm 65cc bridge port with a decompression port on the top. I got it a while ago as a piston and cylinder only and it is one of the strongest Partner R16 based saws I ever ran, the only saw that even comes close to this one is my 7000+ or the K700 P55.

Hey guys, I'm looking for the clutch garter is what the IPL calls it for a partner p85 saw. It is a little sleeve and retaining clip/wire ring that fits over the crankshaft end and into the clutch spider.
I was also wondering can I run without it, or fabricate a bronze bushing to replace it?

Those 6 pics from Jeff Lary look exactly the same as my r16, exact same tilly carb, same recoil, same, same. The only difference is l have white contoll switches, not blue/red. l love the captured filter nuts and air shroud. Ahead of its day. l have stripped mine down for a clean before the jug comes off. And yes its nice to strip this down with a single 8ml wihi tool. Are carb kits hard to find for the tilly carbs?
