Speaking of painting saws, I saw one a few days ago that sure looked like a Stihl, but is was John Deere green. On closer inpection, it was painted. Is that redneck?

Shindaiwas quality is as good as anyones. Their trimmers are the benchmark among professional landscapers/lawn jockeys. Very little husky/stihl in that segment. Mostly shindaiwa, redmax, and some echo. Their saws are very torquey and this is one of the cases where sawtrolls dlg/dyno tests definately dont tell the whole story.
Many of their trimmer models are available with or without a catalyst. They have to sell so many of the epa phase II compliant engines. The catalyst adds little or no weight. Looking at the stihl and echo specs, I dont see how you say the shindaiwa units are heavier. It looks like to me they are lighter and have more hp/cc almost across the board.
Yeah, but the fact that I two Stihls ought to count for something! As for the J'red, it was a freebie. And besides, unlike some of those old yellow saws, the J'red will start.
That Jred is really a Poulan, maybe with some Swedish parts in it......
Besides, isn't a Poulan with Swedish parts better than a McCulloch with McCulloch parts?
