That Homlite is like what I had for my first saw back in 1976. Cut a lot of wood with is before it got stolen. Brings back memories just seeing that picture.

Yes i run 50:1 in my homlite, it workes fine and havent had any trouble have 3 or4 gallons thru it. 36:1 would eb a smoke show. the oil quality is so much better.

That saw is worth $400 + in that condition good find. saw one similar on ebay for 473.00!!!
Matt

Don't tell me that, I will sell the darn thing for $300 and buy a MS250 with a 16" bar. :)

Double trigger....triggered something!

I read "Double trigger and that triggered something! This is what I had hanging in the garage. Now it's sitting on the kitchen floor.:chainsaw:

what does the automatic mean? chainsaws had clutches and gears? I could imagine trying to shift while cutting (something out of the 3 stooges) wood and chains flying everywhere.....

Automatic oiling. One doesn't have to sit their thumb on a pump lever to keep the chain lubed. Yes....saws weren't always auto oil.

Thanks

Can i have it LOL the double trigger cool!

I'm not sure about HAVE...

I got this one out of my uncle's stuff when he died. There were two. I was living in the city at the time and had to think about how much stuff I acquired. He had some really old saws too. Ones that almost require 2 men and one small boy to use. They were only one man saws. Man....If I only knew about this site back then! This one runs but I'm sure it needs a carb kit and at the least a gas cap. Right now there is a milk jug lid. No tipping on the side or you'll have gas running down your arm.

Nice little saw, I have the XL2 with a 12 or 10" bar, and the two triggers are great, I use them both when the time calls for it, and as stated earlier it gives the back a break.

Not a problem running it 40 or 50:1.I have an old blue super ez from 1969 and runs fine on 50:1 using husky oil.
