Well everyone else post pics so its my turn. Had a little time today so I went around cutting a few standing dead red oak and a maple all about 8-10" nonthing major. All on my own property.

First my wood hauler/plow truck/skider/bulldozer.
1983 F-250 80,000mi 351W 4 speed manual w/ granny 1st gear no brakes power steering kinda works both rear leaf spring hangers rotted and broke leaks gas if you put more then 5 gal at a time in. Not a soild piece of metal on the whole truck. This truck owes me nonthing a got it about 5 years ago from a condo coplex it was there main plow and sand truck. When I got it she didnt run draged it home no spark put a coil in it fired right up thats all ive done to it. The best part it was free with the plow.

A very small start to next years pile the rest of the Maple that was still standing. I have about 10 cords of swamp maple at a friends house from a take down about 2 months ago we are going to split that 5 cords each and that will be a job for his supper splitter  We still have to go and drop the rest of the trunk which is 48"+ at DBH and about 10 foot tall we are thing there is at least 2 more cords there.

You might want a little bigger saw for that 48 incher? CAD is a contagious disease, by the way.

Your telling me ever since i started hanging around this site i cruise craigslist everday looking for a steal of a saw but nonthing yet. I cant knock the 345 its been a great firewood saw and has done everything I wanted. My friends father used to run a very large firwood bus. back in the day. He kept 1 supper splitter out of the 5 that he had at one time and a Husky 266 that will be the one cutting the 48 incher. Plus I think I am going to rent the makita from home depot for the day and see what I think of it.
