Hey, there was that post a while back with the photo of a little Echo top handle with a monster 48" bar on it. Now, THAT was funny. Creative too. So the inverse might be just as funny... a 660 with an 8" bar or something.

... For example I know from experience that burying a 36 inch bar will have the 7900 come out short as compared to my 395 (or 066). But timing the 7900 in a cut in smaller wood is just more information, even though not all the information.

I can see how comparing a fresh, properly tuned and prepped modern machine against a "barn find" saw of questionable history, wear and tune would be meaningless relative to model-to-model comparisons, but as a saw-to saw comparison, it's totally a valid test. Wouldn't prove much beyond this particular machine versus that particular machine, but it IS valid to that irrelavent question.

Kind of like comparing Faith Hill to Roseann Barr. It shows that this particular blonde is more attractive to that particular brunette, but not that all blondes are more attractive to all brunettes.
