Hi Pioneer Guy's
I was talking to you guy's about that BrushKing chainsaw attachment that I got and it came coupled to a model#1200 Pioneer chainsaw.Well I aqquired this Pioneer mini catalog that shows eight saws and a description of them as well as specs. The ones featured are the Holiday II, #1200, 2200Series, 3200 Series, #1560, #650, #1770, #1850.Now the thing that caught my eye was the description of the model 1200.I will quote here."If you need a portable source of power, you need a Pioneer 1200.The 1200 gives you fast cutting and easy handling plus optional attachments. You can cut and clear brush, pump water, spray paint or insecticides, drive a belt, tackle a variety of chores".So I was thinking that the BrushKing was mounted new with that model 1200,and it has that Pioneer sticker on the BrushKing shaft.I have talked to a former Pioneer dealer and he thinks he remembers tht Rowco the company that made the BrushKing also made drill attachments and water pump attachments for chainsaws. You all know how this BrushKing thing is killing me trying to find out all I can about it and it's relationship with Pioneer.Obviously from what I quoted here Pioneer made chainsaw attachments also or had Rowco Manufacturing make them for Pioneer. So where the heck is all the info on these things, suck as service manuals /owners manuals,IPL's.There has to be people that know about this issue.Where are all the people that worked in these places in Rowco in Pioneer, and the like.I have I think I contacted no less than 50 plus websites and people regarding this issue with very little leads.I HAVE TO SOLVE THIS THING,I don't think I can do it without help, your help. You guy's have been in this a lot longer than me and have far superior knowledge.Do you guy's know old farmers, farm equipment suppliers, old loggers ANYBODY that can get me this info,You know I'm DESPERATE HERE!You know what I think ,it's a conspiracy!
Thanks Heaps Lawrence PS i just got one item an owners manual for a 660 BrushKing I have the #321 ,So please Keep trying for me!

Good to hear from you Lawrence,I see you are making small inroads into the Brushking mystery, have not heard from you for a while and was thinking about that just before logging on. I too am asking questions about it but only come up empty on that issue but have heard countless hours of stories from the Old timers that ran the Pioneers in the woods but a brush cutter never registers with anyone yet. I am also reading through hundreds of pages of old Pioneer sales literature originally sent to Pioneer dealers along with updates on repair tools and methods plus parts improvements and service bulletins called New Development Program (Confidential) but have not came across any mention of a brushcutter attachment. Sure is neat old stuff given to me by a former sales man for Pioneer that worked for them during the 60`s to mid 80`s. Did you have any luck contacting Mike Acres? I read about his grand daughter, real sad time for him I am sure. Keep up the good work and something will turn up if enough questions get asked. Cheers

I had a fellow coming to see me this week with a P26 pioneer that didn't run anymore. Turns out to be a bad coil. Can someone tell me if the coil is shared with other pioneers models or other brands? I am no pioneer specialist at all, so thought I'd ask the pioneer guys.. ;)

Mike Acres

hi Jerry
Thanks as always to you responding.I did phone for Mike Acres just a few day's before I saw that his Granddaughter had passed away.He was not in the office when I called and has not responded to a few emails I have sent him.Now I can see why ,who could think of anything else when your granddaughter has that cancer battle going on.I was very sad to hear that this has happened to his family.I know we all hope that with love of family and friends will help with their sorrow. She must have been a real little darling!
I really do not know when to try and contact him now!

BrushKing and Pioneer and Jerry

Jerry the thing that is so puzzling is that the company that manufactured the BrushKing was in business from around 1956 or 57 till about the early 1980's.That is a a long time ,and they even operated another business in the same city on the same street apparently. It was called BrushMaster Saw Inc.There has to be a whack of info out there somewhere.:dizzy:

Hi Roland; I wish I had more info on the P series of Pioneer saws but they are not my area of interest so I will just say hi and let Lawrence or Brendon check into that question for you.

Today was a really nice day here in the N.S. so I was out before daylight and got right to work. Went to the woods after lunch and took three of my Pioneer saws with me. First I cut a full truck load of maple with my 1450 and took it from the woods out to the woodyard, stopped in the shop and the 600 saws were looking to get some run time in and I took one of the 600`s and a 610 out on the next trip. They have not been started since March or April but with a few pulls they were both up and snorting. Together we cut up another full load and took it out on the supper time run. Boy are my arms aching but there`s a big smile on my face, especially when a couple of my sawin buddies saw me unloading the truck and commented that you didn`t cut that wood with those old saws did ya. All I could say was Yep,sure did. LOL.

Hi Roland.
I don't know if you have read my Thread that I posted a while back, I Fell Into Chain Saw Heaven, or not, but I'll be going there either Tomorrow, or Tuesday, and I can look around for this Model of Chain Saw for you, and send the Complete Unit to you if you would like.

Belgian and his Pioneer P26 coil

Hello Belgian
I can tell you that the coil for a P20 and P25 are part number#473340 which is the same coil for the Pioneer Holiday11,and the models 1073 and 2073.I can not find my other book at the moment but I will bet the ranch it is the same for the P26.As soon as I find my other book I will let you know

Looking For Parts

I Have A 1073 Pionner And The Recoil Spring Broke On The Weekend. Can Someone Direct Me To A Delaer That May Be Close To Saskatchewan That I Could Contact For Parts

Check out your Poulan Pro dealer if you have one in the area. You will need spring # 431663. If you can't find a new one the following Pioneer saws used the same recoil spring. 1074, P26, P28, Farmsaw and Farmsaw II. Sometimes you can find them on flea bay as well.

Has anyone heard from Bruce Hopft , he has not been posting on any of the old threads that I usually read?. His last thread was about him changing over to run Stihl chainsaws, and rebuild a 044 that he picked up.

Thanks for the info, Lawrence, it is appreciated. :)

I'm not sure how you'd find out what got him banned, but if you go up to his last post on this thread, it says "banned" under his name.

IEL hc - hm parts swap

Does anyone know if the bar covers are the same from an IEL HC to a HM??? Just picked up a HC an it is missing the side cover. I don't have an IPL for either, so wondered if the part numbers were that same.
Thanks

I wonder how much I could get out of my P/P P42HP? Any thoughts. It's my baby and I can't imagine parting with it. But I am just wondering. Need something a little newer.
