I currently have a Stihl ht-75 pole saw. It has given me numerous problems,
I am on my 6th shaft bearing, and it is terrible at holding an idle :blob2: I previously had the echo and never had any trouble with it until it was stolen.(except a little heavy) I have been looking at the Husky but it has less power than the Stihl. Does anyone have experience with the Husky or all three?
I would appreciate any input.

I have had the echo (model 210) for 2 years. It is the non-extendable one but you can add a 3 foot section. No complaints except for the fuel hose degrading. There is/was a recall on some models (mine included) because of the fuel hose issue. I just replaced it myself and no more trouble. Although it has worked really well I haven't used it enough to give any comments on durability.

I lean toward the Echo myself. most of my lawn stuff is Echo, trimmers, blowers, edgers all that. saws are a different story.

i'd go stihl.........i've used the ht 75 and picked up a ht 101 a few months back and it's a good little machine. the echo "feels" alot heavier and more awkward(we have one of them to). the husky one looks like a pain since it does not retract, only fixed lenght.

6th bearing? You must have some other problem causing this... as for the idle, it's either a badly worn piston skirt or more likely you carb or carb mount block/gaskets need work.

I see a lot of HT 101 out of the door, and very few ever come back. All I hear is "good". If they do come back, it's because someone ran over the shaft or did some other "track" related damage. If you get the 101, and haven't used one before, consider getting the full harness for base support. Yes, it can be a pain to use, but at full extension, the saw is difficult to hold below 45 degrees. I tore a rotator cuff with a 101 doing this - only took a year to heal...
